ISRO has officially announced that a spacecraft Mangalyan will be sent to Mars on 28th of next month.
ISRO which has already sent satellites to research the moon has now decided to do research on Mars. A 1350 Kg spacecraft has been manufactured to orbit Mars. This satellite is to be launched from Andhra Pradesh, Sriharikotta with the help of PSLV C-25 rocket. 5 research tools of 15 kg are placed in this rocket. This satellite will depart from earth, travel for 10 months and reach the Mars orbit. This satellite will send pictures about the evidence of life on Mars, its environment and surface temperature. The ISRO officials said Mangalyan spacecraft built at a cost of Rs.450 crores will prove its technical ability to the outside world.
